We are committed to delivering exceptional facade cladding systems for multi-storey buildings, underpinned by rigorous standards of workmanship, product excellence and client-focused service. Our approach to quality assurance ensures every project is completed defect-free, efficiently and with long-term durability in mind.

STANDARDS AND REGULATIONS

We adhere to the highest industry standards to ensure compliance, reliability and safety. All products and systems meet or exceed New Zealand Building Code clauses, with a particular focus on structure (B1), durability (B2), weather tightness (E2) and fire safety (C3). We work exclusively with materials and suppliers that meet ISO 9001 (quality management) and ISO 14001 (environmental management) standards.  Cladding systems are tested against local and/or international benchmarks (AS/NZS 4284) and are supported by BRANZ Appraisals. Windows and doors are tested to local standards and/or validated through European Standards, using in-service historic usage or testing in similar markets. Symonite completes on-site testing to WGANZ 501 and 502.

 

QUALITY OF PRODUCTS AND MATERIALS

We source and fabricate only top-quality materials that meet stringent performance criteria, using reputable brands such as The Building Agency, ALUCOBOND®, and Equitone, ensuring consistent product quality and reliability. We vet all suppliers, conduct third-party inspections, service history reviews and ethical audits to ensure compliance with quality and labour standards. Where neccessary, full-size mock-ups are created to verify product performance and facilitate on-site training. 

 

QUALITY OF WORKMANSHIP AND INSTALLATION

We ensure every facade is installed to the highest standards, focusing on defect-free delivery and seamless execution. Materials are delivered just-in-time to reduce handling, minimise damage and maintain a clean, organised worksite. We conduct pre-installation and ongoing quality checks, including in-house water testing and real-time monitoring through digital QA platforms such as CONQA. Issues are identified and resolved before client handover through proactive monitoring and continuous improvement loops. 

 

DESIGN AND DETAILING EXCELLENCE

Our design and engineering division plays a critical role in delivering superior quality. Known for precision and clarity, our shop drawings and 3D modelling simplify complex designs for on-site execution.  Our team works collaboratively with architects and contractors to fine-tune details, ensuring optimal performance in areas such as thermal efficiency, weather tightness and durability. 

 

PEOPLE AND TRAINING

Quality is driven by skilled, motivated and well-trained people. Our regular in-house training sessions focus on project-based key topics, such as system development, installation best practices, new technologies and troubleshooting. Our in-house and on-site training integrates practical application with theory. We regularly host product-specific training sessions led by local experts to ensure our team understands the nuances of the materials they work with.  Following in-house training, new team members are paired with experienced staff to transfer knowledge and skills and site installers are mentored on the job by site foremen, with oversight from site managers.

 

INSPECTION, TESTING AND DOCUMENTATION

We go beyond standard requirements to ensure the reliability of our systems. Our dedicated QA inspectors perform regular and detailed checks, ensuring compliance with specifications and identifying potential issues early.  We also conduct on-site testing to WGANZ 501 and 502. Our digital QA platform CONQA, enables detailed tracking of every project stage, with photographic evidence and narrative records for transparency.  For those high-risk components, we conduct rigorous mock-ups to troubleshoot designs and train installation teams. 

 

PARTNERSHIPS AND CLIENT COLLABORATION

We are known for our collaborative approach, ensuring architects, main contractors and developers are aligned throughout the project. Our reputation for being ‘good people to work with’ is built on clear communication, problem-solving, investment in relationships and going above and beyond to meet client needs whilst maintaining professionalism and contractual commitments. We offer extended post-installation support, including annual inspections and maintenance, to ensure long-term system performance.

 

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

Quality is not static; it evolves with every project:  We learn from on-site experiences and use those lessons to improve future designs and practices, avoiding repeat issues. QA data from CONQA helps us make smarter data driven decision, improving how we work. We have regular sessions with leadership and site teams encouraging innovative and collaborative problem-solving.
