Catalina Bay Apartments

WINNER: 2025 Te Kāhui Whaihanga NZIA auckland Architecture Award (housing-multi unit).

FINALIST: 2025 Property Council New Zealand Industry Awards.

Willis Bond & Co. led the Catalina Bay redevelopment at Hobsonville Point in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland, a 16,000 m² project completed in 2024. Designed by Cheshire + Architectus, the plan transformed former Royal New Zealand Air Force hangars and hardstand into a vibrant waterfront village of premium retail, hospitality, commercial, and residential spaces while honouring the site’s aviation heritage. The first residential milestone was the Catalina Apartments, a 13-storey building with 73 waterfront units, nine townhouses, and dedicated parking.

Catalina Bay Apartments received a prestigious Housing – Multi Unit Award at the 2025 Te Kahui Whaihanga New Zealand Institute of Architects (NZIA) Auckland Architecture Awards for their innovative urban design and waterfront setting, and was also named a Finalist in the 2025 Property Council New Zealand Industry Awards.
